In Few Words


My name is Andrei Kovalchuk; I am a financial and crisis manager.

Graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Worked on senior financial positions at sports organizations of Norilsk Nickel, at Agros, at Glavproduct. From the party of the system integrator, as the project manager, I participated in the opening of the two earliest in Russia hypermarkets of Metro Cash & Carry.

Deep professional knowledge: excellent mathematical training, methods of financial and investment analysis, accounting and planning methodology, problems of transformation of Russian statements into IFRS, consolidation, production costs and planning.

Since 2005, worked as an Interim CFO; usually, I worked for small- and medium-sized businesses, but among my employers there were rather large organisations: Yugptitseprom, Adamas, Gazprombank.

Most important projects were connected with optimisation of financial and economic activities of my employers: methodology, automation, personnel issues, financial analysis, improving efficiency of the processes, etc. Usualy, I work for companies, being in various transition states, imposing higher requirements for the competence of the chief financial officer.

2018 — ... • A Group of Machinery and Coal Companies
Machinery, coal mining and processing • Kemerovo Region

Participated in an M&A transaction on the part of the investor in the purchase of machinery assets. De facto served as the group's CFO (there is no management company). Conducted the financial and economic part of due diligence. Automated treasury management at the group's enterprises. Automated consolidated management reporting. Developed a financial operating model for new machinery assets. Developed a methodology for calculating the actual marginal and gross cost for machinery and coal companies and comparing it with the planned calculation. Closed several vacancies for financial directors and chief accountants.

2020 — 2021 • Midstream

Participated in an M&A transaction on the part of the investor (purchase of a share in a group of machinery companies). Managed financial and economic activities of the group of companies. Organised the financial and economic part of the due diligence. Organised control and approval of payments. Provided preparation of management reports and elaboration of budgets. Conducted audit of the intra-group debts. Developed a series of anti-crisis financial models. Participated in restructuring of bank loans.

Developed methodological and technological requirements for an ERP system. Organised the selection of development companies and the competitive procedure. Closed a vacancy of CFO.

Participated in an M&A transaction on the part of the seller (sold to Medsi). Acted as CFO of the group of companies. Provided preparation of the group for the deal and successful completion of the due diligence. Reorganised and automated the management reporting. Carried out restructuring of the intra-group debts.
